; color: #000; background-color: #EEF2FB; margin: 0px; } --> There’s a very good chance that former Baltimore Ravens safety Ed Reed will be elected to the Hall of Fame on Saturday in his first year of eligibility. However Bradley Chubb Broncos Jersey , if Reed had his say a different safety would get the call before him.Former Denver Broncos safety Steve Atwater. In a conversation with Adam Lefkoe and Chris Simms of Bleacher Report, Reed said he hoped Atwater would be the one getting inducted this summer.“I pray to God that Steve Atwater gets in. If I get in and he doesn’t get in, I would rather give my spot to him.” Reed said.Atwater is one of the 15 finalists that will be up for discussion. He has been among the final 15 candidates before but has not received enough support for induction.Atwater played 11 seasons in the NFL with 10 coming with the Denver Broncos. He appeared in 167 games and complied eight Pro Bowl selections, two first-team All-Pro selections, was named to the 1990’s All-Decade Team and won two Super Bowls with the Broncos.Reed was even better during his 12 years in the NFL. Reed was a nine-time Pro Bowler, five-time first-team All-Pro selection (and three-time second-team All-Pro), was the NFL Defensive Player of the Year in 2004, was named to the 2000’s All-Decade Team and won a Super Bowl with the Ravens in 2012.“I was never about the accolades,” Reed said. “Though you know they’re there. There’s a lot of people who helped me get to this point. I’m just soaking it in right now.“Just being in that talk is enough for me”Reed and tight end Tony Gonzalez are the most surefire candidates to be elected to the 2019 class. Whether Atwater gets enough support when only five total nominees can be elected remains to be seen. NFL media analyst Daniel Jeremiah, widely-regarded as one of the best draft gurus around has the Denver Broncos selecting Washington State offensive tackle Andre Dillard in his latest mock draft. Here is the interesting thing about this — both Devin White and Drew Lock were available. For most of the draft process, Dillard has flown under the radar despite starting 41 consecutive games for the Cougars at left tackle. His quality play on the field earned him All-Pac 12 and third-team All-American honors this past season as a senior. After his performance at the combine he isn’t flying under the radar anymore. Without question, Dillard had the most impressive workout offensive lineman in attendance. He was a standout performer in the 40-yard dash, 20-yard shuttle, three-cone drill and broad jump and left Indianapolis boosting his draft stock significantly — likely cementing Top 15 status with teams across the National Football League. Dillard’s plus athleticism Von Miller Jersey White , footwork, movement skills, and ability to anchor down at either tackle position make him an enticing selection for the Broncos. While offensive tackle isn’t the most popular selection for many fans with respect to the Broncos’ and potential draft intentions in the first round — it makes a whole lot of sense. They are currently in need of a starter at right tackle and would benefit greatly from an insurance policy in case Garett Bolles fails to improve in his third season. Not only that, but Dillard has the potential to become one of the league’s best tackles under the tutelage of new offensive line coach Mike Munchak. What’s not to like about that? The end of April seems like an eternity from now and it’s impossible to pinpoint what direction the Broncos will go in the draft. However, if other major needs are addressed in Free Agency, it wouldn’t be surprising to see them select the best offensive lineman in this year’s draft with their tenth overall selection if Dillard is available. Some people might hate it (especially when you factor in passing on White and Lock), but I have a feeling many fans would be cheering “Dilly dilly!” once they see how good he is on the gridiron. As always, thank you for reading and here is today’s offering of Horse Tracks.Horse TracksDenver Broncos: Post-Combine 7-round 2019 mock draftWhich way will the Denver Broncos look for talent in the 2019 NFL Draft now that the combine has been completed?
